Video(s) of the day!

Journal Entry: Tue Jul 3, 2007, 10:51 PM
Not that I do this any other day, but I felt like spreading the joy. I know a lot of people are in a funk at the moment. I was too until your lovely compliments on my photography made me just a little giddy...

So anyway here's a little something to cheer you up. From me to you. Because I care. :XD:

EDIT: Oh, and for anyone who comes to my page and hasn't read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, do not look at my favorites gallery! It's completely filled to the brim with spoilers at the moment. I couldn't help myself!

This is reposted from BlackLillian's journal, so these are her words, but just because it's reposted doesn't mean it's any less my feelings. I wouldn't repost it if I didn't feel strongly about it:

First off, I thought I'd do my part to spread the word. Some of you may have heard about this, but I suspect most of you haven't. A man named Aaron Hall was brutally beaten within an inch of his life, then left naked in a ditch, by two of his so-called friends; he managed to crawl out before they returned with a shotgun and fired it towards him. They returned later and wrapped his corpse in a tarp, then left it in one of their garages for days, until a third man turned them in.

Their defense was "he was gay."

This sums it up much clearer than I ever could: [link] There are no graphic images, but it does go into more detail about the beating, so don't click it if you don't feel up to it.

The worst part is that the state this took place in, Indiana, has no laws against hate crime. No publications outside of the local small-time newspapers have covered this. But that doesn't mean that noobody will hear about it--it's been two months, and word is slowly getting out. We can help that. Nobody should die like Aaron Hall died, and we can make sure that he is not forgotten, nor the injustice surrounding his death. No matter what you believe about homosexuality, beating a man literally to a bloody pulp with "gay panic" as your excuse is wrong. Hate is wrong. That it's been kept quiet is worse.

Speak out. Tell someone else. And tell them to pass it on. Hate is wrong, and we can not keep quiet about this.

EDIT: People have been asking if they can repost this, and I say go right ahead. The more exposure this gets, the better.

Thanks for reading and thanks to BlackLillian for spreading the word.

Help me out here, folks.

If you know of a film school, shout it out. I'm not having much luck on the internet so anything that people know is a help to me. If you know of ANY college that has a film making or cinematography-related program, just leave a comment and and then I can look it up. You don't even have to know anything about the program. I just need something I can google.

Thanks Deviantart!
